Driftwood sculpture art workshop, Yilan Green Expo, Wu Lao Keng Scenic Area, Taiwan
蜘無不盡-漂流木藝術創作,宜蘭武荖坑綠色博覽會
We are an artist team from Fine arts department in National Taiwan Normal University to cooperate together from scratch to finishing. I am the designer for the first draft, and cooperated with my teammate and teachers to help me realize this 3 floor high sculpture.
We got commission from environmental protection Expo in Taiwan, and the government assigned a theme to focus on natural insects. We found a lot of long driftwood, which really looks like spider legs, so I tried to assembled those woods and found out it would be a giant spider embracing all human beings. This unrealistic imagination led us to create those giant spiders with mommy and kids roles. Let us to see those natural creatures in a peculiar way.
