The Journey about my baby & I |Animated website
This art project is an interactive suitcase on the website which contains a lot of short animations. When you open the suitcase and click those objects, you will trigger some meaningful moment clips. This animation is about a mother's life journey, and it tells my female role transition to be a mother and I collected from my life moments with my kids. It contained valuable and poetic moments, like wedding photos on the wall, my baby moving with heart-beating in the womb, a time tunnel showing women’s different roles from newborn baby to mother, grandma and to death.....etc. It is my story, and it is also you and your mom’s story.
Those short animations are the story about my female role transition to becoming a mother and I collected from my daily life moments with my little daughter. I included some meaningful moments, such as the family photo on the wall, my baby was moving with heart-beating in the womb, , my baby’s birth certificate as a real existence of a newborn life, breastfeeding and feeding her food for eating, broken pieces of Saint Mary statue with tears and milks, broken pieces of mother’s clock like mother’s time always divided into small pieces, kids’ toys mess around on the ground, my baby started to learn to write numbers and letters on the book, a time tunnel shows a woman’s different roles from newborn baby to mother, grandma and to death.......etc.
This live journey will make people immersed into the floating poetic life clips about how a baby grows up and from a mother. All these animation clips will be included into a suitcase on a website to let the audience click those traveling objects and trigger the videos. The suitcase is also a metaphor to show life's journey, and it contains so many meaningful objects to represent the memories.
At the end, I would like to thank Dunedin Fine Art Center to give me this opportunity to share my artwork to audience. It is my first time to join a digital art residency and met different artists and people here.
